Dr. Pat Dougherty is a Naval Aerospace and Operational physiologist, with a PHD in physiology and additional training in kinesiology and exercise science. He is also an all american and championship triathlete, and the backbone of Wholist Health’s 12 week program with exercise physiology and high level training tips!

 

Today, Pat joins us for the second episode in his series to discuss all things exercise physiology. We break down the difference between exercise science, exercise kinesiology, and exercise physiology and why the differences are important. We dig into how our bodies respond to physical activity, and how it adapts over time. Pat explains specificity, progressive overload, and FITT (frequency, intensity, type, and time) and how these will help us train to become our best selves.
